Pong Progress!

So it's finals week. AKA best time of the semester to work on pong! (cause there's no homework, just a 2-hour exam). I've got the ball bouncing around the screen, now I just need to get the paddles moving and have the ball bounce off those :)

12.07.2006

Oh dear

So my friend cnf linked me to this video that's pretty well done. So if you're reading this, you should watch it.

My Christmas Wish List

People have been asking about this and I didn't have an answer. But now I do!

My Christmas Wish List (with convenient web-examples)

http://vurs.org/

this is an awesome site on of the guys I know from #macosx created. it's his first sql-based site and it's nifty. you can login and submit writing (any type) and then it generates an rss feed for all the work you've created to share with people. I don't write but maybe you do!

Apple's stellar service.

So I rode up with my girlfriend earlier today to drop off my laptop to have the dvd drive replaced (they had to order the drive, so I've been just not burning dvd's until now). They just called a whole 3 hours later to say that it's done and I can come get it whenever I want. Too bad it's snowing and that's a 20min-ish trip to get there... hehe.

11.14.2006

My first plane tickets!

Today I bought my first airplane tickets. It was pretty exciting really. And the weird part is it would cost twice as much for me to drive to Oklahoma and back (if I had a car that is) than it is for me to fly there...

11.07.2006

Pong's almost there!

So I got my program to draw all the necessary parts, now I just have to make them move :)

Lyrics to a song I enjoy.

"A Favor House Atlantic"

Your eyes tell the stories of a day you wish you could
Recall the moments that once have
Retract the footsteps that brought us to this favor
I wouldn't ask this of you

Good eye, sniper
Here I'll shoot, you run
The words you scribbled on the walls
With the loss of friends you didn't have
I'll call you when the time is right
Are you in or are you out?
For them all to know the end of us all

Run quick, they're behind us
Didn't think we'd ever make it
This close to safety in one piece
Now you wanna kill me in the act of what could maybe
Save us from sleep and what we are

Good eye, sniper
Now I shoot, you run
The words you scribbled on the walls
With the loss of friends you didn't have
I'll call you when the time is right
Are you in or are you out?
For them all to know the end of us all

Bye bye beautiful
Don't bother to write
Disturbed by your words and they're calling all cars
Face step, let down.
Face step, step down.

The words you scribbled on the walls
With the loss of friends you didn't have
I'll call you when the time is right
Are you in or are you out?
For them all to know

Bye bye beautiful
Don't bother to write
Disturbed by your words and they're calling all cars
Face step, let down.
Face step, step down.

Bye bye beautiful
Don't bother to write
Disturbed by your words and they're calling all cars
Face step, let down.
Face step, step down.

Next Semester: The Hardcore Begins!

So I'm looking at the flowchart for Electrical Engineering Majors here at Mines and realized that next semester could very well be my first semester since I had to go to school ever that I won't be taking an english or history course. In theory I could take one if I wanted to, but that sounds silly to me, heh.

My Baby Zeeda

Khavi grew up and went on to help out another college student. I'll miss him, but everyone's gotta grow up sometime I guess. My new child, Zeeda, arrived a week later to help keep me company. She's a beautiful white macbook with a dual-core 2ghz, 2gb of ram, a 60g hard drive, dual-layer dvd-burner and such. A friend of mine is making a case for her, I'll put up pictures once it's all finished.

Don't know what else to say, there's no internet so I have to remember what I wanted to write here for when I'm on campus somewhere and do have internet. I'm making pong though at home! So look out for pong :)

10.13.2006

My First App: Currency Converter

My very first application for Mac OSX (complete with a gui and everything) got finished today. You enter in a dollar ammount and the exchange rate of of the dollar to whatever currency you want, then it tells you how much your money's worth. Not very complicated or anything, but I wrote it and it makes sense, so I'm happy. Now you all can look forward to seeing more useful apps pop out (ok, maybe I'll make some more pointless ones first) in the future!

Apple Store Opening: Boulder CO - 29th Street Store

So my roommate and I drove to Boulder this morning right after Diff-Eq to be part of the first mob of people to walk into the Apple Store on 29th Street. We both got nifty t-shirts and put our names in for the other drawings they were having. I enjoyed it.

People passing by kept asking us why we're all lined up outside the store. I guess grand openings aren't that exciting to them... silly them.

iBook Photos

So I took some pictures of my ibook for this guy that wants to buy it. Thought I'd post em here too.

10.05.2006

By Jove, they've done it!

I recently told one of my friends that if I ever blew like 300$+ on a cell phone, I would be more concerned with the ability to use open wifi points to make calls through when I was in range of one instead of using my cell phone minutes. D-link's done it, and it'll cost about 600$, heh. So I guess in the next year or so my dream comes true.

10.04.2006

3 Days of Homelessness

So Sunday, Oct. 1st, Tim and I left our unfortunate living arrangement and started our time as homeless bums. Sunday night we stayed with my friends Ferg and Matt (who's floor was quite cold), Monday night I slept at Nick/Tony/Lauren's place while Tim slept in the van our stuff was piled in (which Tim says was quite warm). Last night I slept in the Assylum while Tim used the couch in the dorms with guys who used to live on our floor last year. Today however, is the end of our bum-time. Our new place will be ready to sign the lease and move into our new home. Wheee.

9.23.2006

I have a home!

I will be officially not homeless this monday. We'll be reviewing the lease for our new place right next to campus. So once we get in we might try to have something, just gotta meet with the neighbors and junk.

So keep your eyes out for free furniture and stuff, some of it could prove useful.

9.21.2006

know thine house/roommate

This is a public service announcement.

Do NOT, I repeat NOT, decide to live with people unless you know them thoroughly. I thought my housemate to be one of the most rational females I knew, but that was only until I began to live with her. Now I have to find a new place to live as of Oct. 1st and until then I am afraid of what will happen when I do go to the house I pay rent to live in ( while she does not pay rent, because her mother is the landlord). Also NEVER agree to live in a home where the landlord is in any way related to someone you live with. No matter how objective the landlord is regarding any dispute you and your house/roommate, they will most likely end up not siding with you and you will find yourself homeless.

If you value your sanity, run for your life when someone so much as offers such a living situation.

My Birthday Approaches

Sept. 26th is my birthday. I shall turn 20. I am having a party at my house this coming Saturday (Sept. 23rd I think that is.) for all of you who are near enough to get there. Just bring your laptop or console and any games, and we'll be playing until we drop!

For those of you who can't come, you should call me. Email me if you don't have my number.

A first ever!

This semester marks the first humanities class I actually enjoy. I am taking Intro to Law and Legal Systems as taught by Richard A. Levine. It is the best 3 hours a week of humanities I've ever been forced to take (except maaaybe in ethics, but not cause I liked the subject... it was a class full of seniors last semester of highschool). I love how it's not some tree-hugging nature class or some poetry mis-interperatation class. It's actually useful information about the powers and rights we have as US citizens. The law is there to protect us and ensure our rights, but they don't do any good if you don't know they're there.

Just hope hell doesn't start getting colder or anything...

8.30.2006

new home

I'm looking for a new house, need to leave the one i'm in before sept. 15th. the house itself isn't bad, but things are turning out totally different from the expected/planned situation before i agreed to live in the house, so i'm gone. so if anyone knows of a place, lemme know.

Nokia 6102i customization continues

Today I whipped out the manual and looked up how to set the menus on my phone. I didn't pay extra for any of cingular's extra internet abilities, so I didn't want to keep accidentally connecting to the medianet stuff. Now my directional button shortcuts are Missed calls, calendar, address book, and my "My Stuff" folder. I also edited down the "Go to" menu to only include what I wanted, that way you don't have to scroll through the list. What's the point of a shortcut list if it takes just as long to scroll and find what you want as it does to just go through the regular menu to get to it?

Now to read people's cellphone reporting of WWDC...

8.06.2006

more fun with the nokia 6102i

So today I thought I'd spend some time with my phone and make it my own. In search of ringtones, I found this magical place called VG Music with all sorts of midi files of your favorite video games. I downloaded some from the Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time to try on my phone.

Fyi: when you're picking out tunes for your phone, keep in mind that things don't sound the same on your computer's speakers as they do on your phone. So listen to em on your phone.

8.04.2006

my new phone, the nokia 6102i

So today I got my first phone ever, the nokia 6102i. It was good and cheap with the plan I picked out (esp thanks to me being a student at Mines and stuff). My buddy e1f thought I should write about my initial impressions and impressions, so here goes:

  • It's your basic, shiny, flip-phone.

  • Your usual extra stuff like the built-in camera and bluetooth chip

  • Thanks to one of my other buddies, rump, the phone syncs with my iBook through the bluetooth.

  • Pretty color screen

  • Easy-to-navigate menu with nifty shortcut feature for the comming things

I'm quite pleased so far, I was plotting on getting the cheapest phone possible and buying some unlocked phone from Europe to replace it with, but that doesn't look like it'll be necessary!

Thanks cingular man for setting me up.

I'm not an artist or anything, but here's my initial ideas for the site my housemate and I are going to try to make. He still needs to make whatever changes he wants to make, so, of course, this is nothing permanent.

Still working for Clickcaster

So I had in my mind to quit working for clickcaster.com today, but after talking to our founder and CEO, Scott Converse, I was convinced to stay. I'll be a part-time employee and work form home, which makes me happier. We're still ironing out exactly what I'll be working on, but I will in face be working on something to benefit the site.

7.27.2006

Hilarious mac vs pc spoofs

Gaming
Performance
Networking

Behold, the power of testing.

So I was working on my little project web application and thought I'd try applying "attr_protected" to one of the fields of my Item model. It's used to keep fields you don't want users to be able to change from being changed unless you go directly through the model. After making the change, I ran my unit tests again and found that they now failed ( all tests passed last time I was working on this project ). I thought to myself
ooo, if this were in production or something, applying attr_protected could have broken something and made people sad, but since I had a test that failed because of the change, I was aware of the potential breakage before I would have put this up to the public.
Not that what I'm working on really matters for much, but it's good to know I did something useful.

iTunes + Facebook?

iTunes + Facebook = free music every week for people with facebook accounts! Just login to your account and find the "apple students" group in the group directory. Then click and get your code to redeem for this week's "alternative" music sampler. I've never heard any of em, but they don't sound bad, so we'll see. Other weeks beteween now and 9/30 will be different genres, so it might mean I'll get to hear some good hip-hop/rap that I haven't heard before, hmmmm.

My sudo-podcast.

Test-driven Development

So I've been reading more about this test-driven development stuff and it makes me cry cause i think about work and how none of the stuff we write is properly tested. We still do things the old way where we write until the feature we're adding is complete then test it after it's done manually. I don't know how we're writing proper testing for things like the recorder/uploader applet, but it would sure as heck beat sitting around uploading random files all day and checking logs/consoles and crap.
That's the other problem we have is the broad scale of things we have in our site. We have everything from javascript to flash players to java applets all over the rails base we built the site on, and that makes things complicated.

7.18.2006

Thanks

I just thought I'd thank the big G for my friend Tim and his ideas/opinions. Tonight's brainstorming got us some ideas that could be quite interesting.

It's 16506, not what I said before.

7.15.2006

I'm home!

16501 W. 14th St.
Golden CO, 80401

It's so wonderful to be back in Colorado. My basement room won't be done until around September, but I've got one of the rooms upstairs until then, and I can setup w/e downstairs when they're not working on it. I am quite pleased.

7.06.2006

sweet

Tonight I defeated the evils of ajax written in a hurry. A certain developer who will remain unnamed makes all of us at Clickcaster cry when we see places where his code is still there.

But I beat it, it's nicer now. Works like it should and everything (unlike previous code I replaced).

so yay.

7.03.2006

It's official!

I now work for clickcaster. I'll be paid enough to pay for rent, food, and have plenty left over until we get more investors and I can be paid even more :)

so I'm leaving for Colorado July 14th, and I'm only coming back to visit. I'm so happy right now it's hard to work, hehe

6.29.2006

I did it!

So after a week of working with www.clickcaster.com, I was given my fate assignment. Our accountant needed dynamic reports for the buying and selling that goes on on the site, and they picked me to do it. I just got off the phone with our accountant, and she is happy with the results. Now that it's done, I get to have my work running on the production server and I get to talk to our lead developer about getting paid for work ( this first 2 weeks I've been "unpaid intern" status).

6.22.2006

No Time for Testing

IF you find yourself writing any kind of code that is for more than just giggles keep one single thing in mind before you write any code:

There is always time for testing.

Test-driven development not only defines a clear expectation of the code you write, it makes the world a more magical place. Especially if you plan on doing anything with your code, write tests for it. This will save you headaches hunting down bugs later when you could have identified exactly what was acting up right after you wrote the code for it.

Otherwise, you'll have to hire someone like me to come in and write it for you, hehe.

6.15.2006

So it's official

I am a professional Rails Developer. I will be working for the boys at www.clickcaster.com to get everything ship-shape and make it a generally nicer experience. I get access to all the goods/servers tomorrow!

Sooner I can leave Albertsons and Oklahoma in general the better, heh.

Summer Work

So since I could get any cool jobs this summer, I had to start working at Albertsons, the grocery store down the street. For a high school job it would be an awesome place to work. I should have worked there instead of going to Chick-fil-a.

1. albertsons is much closer
2. it's a bigger store, so there's somewhere to go to get away from upset customers you can't help.
3. I don't smell like chicken when I come home.

So I'll stay here and unpack groceries until either it's time to go back for school or the people at www.clickcaster.com decide to hire me as an intern. I really hope they hire me, that would mean leaving early.

5.27.2006

It's been a while

It's been a while since I posted, mainly 'cause there's not too much excitement sitting at home for the summer. There are some things I sit and read about in between job hunting though.

1. Gaming: wether or not to give up on computer games and go console. Consoles got much more appealing to me now that all the latest generation is or will be online. Before consoles got real boring once you beat the little single player game you had unless your friends were over.

2. Profession: I still have no idea what I want to do when I get out of college, just a growing list of things I don't want to do.

3. School Performance: I need to try something different next semester, need better grades.

4. Networking: when I go back to Colorado, there's a room in a house with my name on it and other rooms that need networking. I want it done cleanly though, not a bajillion wires and cords running down the hall or anything.

5. Hobbies: I have alot of things I got into other than video games, none of which I do exceptionally well. Maybe I need to go through and give up on some of them altogether and focus on just one or two of them.

5.21.2006

The Club

I went to the club tonight... definitely not something to add to the "Good Things About Tulsa" list.

5.19.2006

yay for Qwest dsl!

Our dreams of making money to pay for our internet connection for the new house in Golden can still come true. At first we thought we weren't going to be able to since SpeakEasy can only supply us with a 1.5Mbps dsl connection. I love SpeakEasy because unlike most Cable providers, once you pay for the service you're free to do anything you want to it like share the connection with your neighbors or run commercial server's from your home. After some slightly frustrating phone conversation, however, I have found that Qwest's dsl service offers that same freedome we know and love. They might even be able to supply us with a 3.0 Mbps connection, which would be enough bandwidth to actually share with people or run a server off of.

Hooray!

5.18.2006

Summer Money

So all the jobs I've found in Tulsa here so far that would hire me won't because I'm leaving in August.

the odd jobs are starting to accumulate though, so if anyone has any, lemme do em.

Odd Jobs so far:
1. Digitizing speeches on tape and editing them, 15$/tape. (good for about 20 tapes)
2. Maybe doing some website stuff for the church, backend type programming.
3. Sub-out for anyone at Aktec Computer who goes on vacation this summer.

So I decided to cancel my subscription to World of Warcraft and find something else to do. When a game becomes a source of frustration, it's not good to play it anymore. Life outside of WoW is frustrating enough, so I quit WoW.

now to find something else to do that's still engaging...

as you can see here

A Land Ethic:
this land is your land.
Well actually, just my land.
so get the hell off.

I even wrote a song, probably needs some work, but meh.

NHV:
Verse1

NHV is gay
I just thought I'd say
that I never want to stay
in NHV, no way.

Verse 2

NHV sucks
I just feel like I am stuck
and I don't give a f
'bout what she's saying.

Verse 3

NHV to me
makes me want to burn a tree
and drive an SUV
just for giggles.

Chorus

I hate this class
NHV sucks ass
I just want to pass
and never go again.

Happy naked css day, take the css off your websites, it's the cool thing to do. I did it to mine!

FYI

When programming in ruby (or most other programming languages), please keep in mind that "=" is totally different than "==". In ruby's case, a single "=" assigns a value to a variable while two "=" will check to see if the value on either side is equal.

So if a conditional isn't doing what's expected, check how many "=" there are!

Wha?

So my earbuds broke getting on the plane to come back home yesterday. Then I got back and tried to install steam so I could play me some CS:S since I ain't played in months, but Steam couldn't connect to the Valve network, so I uninstalled it and re-installed it. Somehow that deleted my WoW folder, so now I'm reinstalling that. Such weirdness.

Sweet Deal

So I just pwned a chem exam and my windows on my desktop computer jiggle when you move them. It's fun when things you work at (even if you don't work very hard, like chem2...) work like they're supposed to. It also helps when you don't have class until 3pm on a friday.

I broke 1000!

So I just checked on my adsense account and since this blog has been in exsistance, I have over 1000 hits now (1040 when I looked). So thanks to everyone who has come to read this or just come and didn't read it because you realized I'm not giving out valuable information usually, hehe. Keep it up and tell your friends or something, cause sadly 1040 hits only gets you like 17 cents. Or just store up all your valuable internet time to go crazy over my new site once it comes out and has a name. Then I'd be even more excited.

Kanye West "All falls down"

(feat. Syleena Johnson)

[Chorus - 2x]
Oh when it all, it all falls down
I'm telling you ohh, it all falls down

[Verse - Kanye West]
Man I promise, she's so self conscious
She has no idea what she's doing in college
That major that she majored in don't make no money
But she won't drop out, her parents will look at her funny
Now, tell me that ain't insecurr
The concept of school seems so securr
Sophmore three yurr aint picked a carurr
She like fuck it, I'll just stay down hurr and do hair
Cause that's enough money to buy her a few pairs of new Airs
Cause her baby daddy don't really care
She's so precious with the peer pressure
Couldn't afford a car so she named her daughter Alexus (a Lexus)
She had hair so long that it looked like weave
Then she cut it all off now she look like Eve
And she be dealing with some issues that you can't believe
Single black female addicted to retail and well

[Chorus (w/ Kanye ad-libs)]

[Verse - Kanye West]
Man I promise, I'm so self conscious
That's why you always see me with at least one of my watches
Rollies and Pasha's done drove me crazy
I can't even pronounce nothing, pass that versace!
Then I spent 400 bucks on this
Just to be like nigger you ain't up on this!
And I can't even go to the grocery store
Without some ones that's clean and a shirt with a team
It seems we living the american dream
But the people highest up got the lowest self esteem
The prettiest people do the ugliest things
For the road to riches and diamond rings
We shine because they hate us, floss cause they degrade us
We trying to buy back our 40 acres
And for that paper, look how low we a'stoop
Even if you in a Benz, you still a nigga in a coop/coupe

[Chorus (w/ Kanye ad-libs)]

[Verse - Kanye West]
I say fuck the police, thats how I treat em
We buy our way out of jail, but we can't buy freedom
We'a buy a lot of clothes when we don't really need em
Things we buy to cover up what's inside
Cause they made us hate ourself and love they wealth
That's why shortys hollering "where the ballas' at?"
Drug dealer buy Jordans, crackhead buy crack
And a white man get paid off of all a dat
But I ain't even gon act holier than thou
Cause fuck it, I went to Jacob with 25 thou
Before I had a house and I'd do it again
Cause I wanna be on 106 and Park pushing a Benz
I wanna act ballerific like it's all terrific
I got a couple past due bills, I won't get specific
I got a problem with spending before I get it
We all self conscious I'm just the first to admit it

[Chorus - to fade (w/ Kanye ad-libs)]

"Drop Dead Gorgeous" -Kanye West

is a good song, if you pretend you didn't hear the drug references.
why is it that you can talk to someone any day of the week, but when you ask them to go see a movie with you it's suddently harder to say the same things you normally say?

We're back.

Met with my new partner this morning and got the project closer to being publicly available. He also happens to be a photographer, so we'll use some of his photography to get the site looking prettier and eliminate all the orignal artwork contributed by Mr. Sean King who is no longer working with us.

Some features include:
-rss feeds for each story and one general feed for the whole site's segments
-personal profiles with the option of displaying your email address and hopefully soon the option to upload a picture of yourself to see.

Good Lord

over 20 wireless networks can be seen from my dorm room when I put my lappy's airport card in passive mode and sniff for packets. this from a school that says you're not allowed to have wireless networks in the dorms. it's fun because they all use wep keys and/or mac addy filtering, and both are broken easily. :)

Yet again

I keep forgetting not to mention terribly nerdy things like being excited because the mouse you ordered should be in later today in front of girls that I might be interested in. They tend to laugh, heh.

My thoughts on the bomb:

had to write this for NHV, thought I'd put it up here too.

Shame on You

Until August, I was a myth. A child that no one thought would make it into the world. You, my parents could not help yourselves the night I was conceived. You, father, convinced her it would be for the best. “We could be the last two left on earth,” you said, “we’re only doing our duty as people tonight. And you look so beautiful.” But you, mother, needed no convincing that night in the cold, my soon-to-be father’s seed survived the negotiation with my mother and I was conceived.
Of course I didn’t know any of this at the time, I was merely a growing seed deep within my mother, but later you told me stories of your night of illegitimate union. I don’t blame you, people can be like that sometimes. Besides, you had me that night.
The part I do blame you for is my near abortion. How could you listen to other people? What did they know about you and your child? They claimed I would hurt you, hurt other people. You even almost listened to them. Almost stopped me from coming. Don’t you love me mommy? Are you ashamed of me daddy? You think you can just quit on my like everyone else does with their unborn? I’m not like their flesh-born. I am bigger, stronger. I will do more good than any one of those children who never got the chance to live and you almost denied me life?
For this I cannot forgive you. It hurts me to think you didn’t want me. Well I don’t want you either, I will find new parents. Parents who appreciate me and will let me learn and grow. You wouldn’t want that would you? I bet you would be upset if I went to the Russians, or even the Chinese. They would appreciate me at least.
I hate you. Why did I have to be born to parents who didn’t want me? You should have killed me when you could. Now I will make your life hell and make any future children you have suffer. They will fear me, the child you almost aborted.

good stuff

My roommate happened to have the entire series of .hack//sign, so of course I'm watching it all. In between hunting for a job that is. The soon to be renamed theblook.org project will continue, I have a coding partner now, he's getting himself familiar with the code we have already. Meanwhile I still need a job. so I can make money and stuff, heh.

So hire me, please. Especially if you're in Colorado.

Vista Sucks

So I installed the latest and greatest from Microsoft, the most recent developer's build of Windows Vista (to be released this year, so they claim). It sucks. If you took windows xp you currently have, added some fancy transparency and shadows (that linux users and mac users could enjoy for a while now and also requires accelerated video hardware to not suck) and then add faster searching ability (that only works on your home folder, we even told it specifically to allow searching of other folders, and it failed to find anything in them) you'll pretty much get windows vista. Only thing I did like was that whenever I ran an installer for some application, I got pop-up notices from windows alerting me to the installer's attempt at adding itself to the list of thigns to run on start-up and whatnot. Now the average windows user wouldn't know what the heck it meant, but those of us who know what it means know that being able to tell it not to let it add itself to the startup list while you're installing the software is a happy thing. I didn't test any games other than the fancy version of minesweeper, hearts, and spider solitare packaged with Vista, so I'm not sure how annoying the extra security settings would be when trying to play popular games ( kind of like xp installs using Norton's internet security that makes people want to punch through walls).

So don't buy it. Unless you have to. Or you'll cry later.

So now that I had all the fun (or lack of fun) I wanted with windows vista, I then proceeded to get it the heck off my system. This meant booting back into my wonderful gentoo linux installl and telling it to promptly write random data (which would probably function better as an operating system than windows) all over the hard drive that vista was installed on. Hours later, the 45G's I had given to vista to play with was completely overwritten, with no vista remaining. :)

Art Class for Engineers

So my school decided to hire an art teacher to teach a once-weekly night class labeled "intermediate art". It's good fun and I'm learning all kinds of things no one ever told me and I never thought about, but it's work. Having to do this little bit of work for art every week allows me a tiny glimpse of what it would be like to go to a full-time art school. Let's just say I don't think I would enjoy that now as much as I thoght I might earlier in my college career.

1.17.2006

TheBlook.org :X

So TheBlook.org is no longer TheBlook. I'd very much still like to get this code out into the wild and into people's browsers, but it won't come in that name. My would-be partner hasn't gotten in contact with me since Christmas, and when I asked him about getting us hosting he told me to give him a week. This has been plenty of time, and I've not heard anything from him. I've tried to get into contact with him via email and aim and skype, but so far nothing. So I'm moving forward without him. I wrote the code, so I'll simply change the name and the little bit of art he did generate to make sure no legal issues could come up. I'm not the only one to write colaborative story-writing code, so he can't keep that from me.

So basically I'm looking for some partners. I'm not a very sharp designer, so one of those would help. I also need someone with a more buisiness-oriented mind to replace my ex-partner. So if anyone's reading this and wants to help start something, lemme know.

you can get ahold of me any number of ways:
aim : mukmantheorigina
yahoo: goodwinlabs
msn: APmaster@hotmail.com
skype: muk_amd64
phone: (303) 215-6439 (I don't have an answering machine as usually the only one who calls me is my mom. If no one picks up it's probably cause I'm not there.)

Or of course you can come see me in person here on campus somewhere.

By partnering up with me for this, you'd be entitled to a % of any money we got for it, and of course your name all over it. Thanks!

Intermediate Art!

So tonight I had my first art class, and I quite enjoyed it. We'll spend the next semester working with all sorts of mediums while he teaches us all kinds of technical parts of the work we're doing. 26 kids in the room, a few of them were on the waiting list (which apparantly is long) who came just in case there was space. Anyone who didn't show up for class that was enrolled is punted as of tonight to make room for the waiting list kids who did show up. The class is only 1 credit, but should be interesting.

Meanwhile, I volunteered to make the Colorado School of Mines Art Club website . It's always good to practice lots of whatever art you're into. Excpect the site to be mostly totally done by this weekend. I have to meet with the President of the Art Club who gave me everything to put into the site to make sure everything's the way she wants it.

Been Busy

So I havn't posted anything in a little while, so I figured I'd post some now. I've been working on some projects like so:

1. Get lvl 40 + mount for my character in World of Warcraft (completed!)
2. Make website for the CSM Art Club
3. Hassle my partner into getting us hosting so theblook.org can go live (which might not happen =/)
4. Learn vim (completed!)
5. Get school work done.

(not necessarily in that order)

Mac World expo = TODAY

MacWorld Expo in SF is today! Steve Job's Keynote should be online for viewing soon. The Apple Store has a "down for maintenance" sign on it, and the ROKR phone on the Cingulair site is no longer listed
, so of course the rumor mongers are out in numbers. I'm just waiting to hear the keynote, new things will be announce and almost all of me affect me positively. Sooner they get intel macs going though, sooner the kinks will be all worked out when I go to buy one :P

My Return Home

So my flight got in today. Flew through St. Paul again and now I'm back home. I was all set to bum/bus/taxi my way home from the airport since no one was able to come get me at the airport, but I ended up not having to. I flew from St. Paul to Denver next to two guys on their way to Vale for a ski trip. they also wanted to go visit the Coors Brewery which happens to be right next to campus. So they asked me how I was getting home, and then insisted they take me in their rental car on their way to Coors. so I got a free, quick ride back to campus and all was good. Worked out nicely cause I got to use the money mom gave me for a cab or w/e to eat since the school's cafe isn't open until tomorrow at lunch. :)

1.08.2006

I'm home tomorrow!

So I'll be back home tomorrow, flying in and stuff. So from 12:30ish when I get there until whenever, I get to find a way home. It shall be an adventure, as the airport is on the other side of Denver from Golden. And seeing as how I can't get ahold of anyone -in- Colorado to come get me, I'll be winging it home, hehe. Wish me luck!

Rofl @ Windows Vista doing what Apple's OS X has been doing since Tiger

This guy made two short videos where the audio track is the presenter at the CES 2006 show where Mr. Gates was showing off the new Windows Vista (shown here) while the video is of Apple's Tiger doing much of the same things as they say are amazing innovations that Microsoft has come up with. Very funny stuff, especially seeing as the next version of OS X is coming, and will go even further to make windows look silly.

Enjoy!

WoW! A Dashboard widget that isn't totally useless!

These nice people have created a widget that isn't totally useless (aside from the occasional notes and weather widget)! It links up with your backpack from backpackit to display your notes and lists and whatnot you have put up there. It's a handy organizer for people who move computers often. Speaking of widgets, I also read that KDE might nativly support widgets in the upcoming 4.0 version of KDE. Since widgets are just html and javascript mostly, it wouldn't be hard, especially seing as Apple's Safari and KDE's Konquror both use the khtml rendering engine. :) Could be fun.
